Meet Krista

Krista comes to the counseling profession after a 25 year career as a dancer, educator and choreographer and this lifelong pursuit continues to inform her passions in the field of counseling.

Navigating the intense internal and external pressures of the dance world make this population susceptible to high levels of anxiety, perfectionism and burnout. When transitioning out of her performing career proved particularly difficult, Krista saw an opportunity to help others navigate their transitions more smoothly. Seeing the crossroad between dance and mental health and positioning herself at the intersection of the two, is how ZoLiMind was created.

Krista firmly believes in fostering spaces that allow dancers and performing artists to discuss the topics most pertinent to them as well providing tools for success and enjoyment in all stages of training and career.

  • "Krista's workshops are informative, life-giving and healing. She creates an honest space where vulnerability and connection are valued, empowering dancers to lead with authenticity"

Allie Beach (Director, Broadway Dance Center/NYC)

  • “Mindset and mental health are so important for this career from auditioning to working professionally and this workshop was an extreme help to all the dancers prior to going into a stressful audition. Krista created a one of a kind workshop specific to our needs and received such great feedback from all the dancers who participated. We cannot wait to have her back!”

Traci Reszetylo (Director, Exactitude Dance, NYC, NY)

  • It is safe to say that bringing Krista, and her wealth of knowledge, on board for my Intensive has created lifelong change and health for these participants. I am so very thankful for her and her work!

-Lizz Picini (Director, Picini Project 2024)

  • “Krista’s workshop created a space for all dancers no matter their background. She opened up and allowed students to speak freely and reflect on their needs, wants, struggles and questions. Since the workshop the dancers have asked over and over again for more time devoted to mental health and workshops like this one”

Betsy Graves (Dance Director, Broughton HS Raleigh, NC)

  • “Krista’s workshop was a wonderful weekend of “a-ha” moments for me and it helped me so much to be mindful, reflect and have some tools to put into practice!”

    Shannon B. (Dancer)
