The Workshop

Dancers are resilient and determined athletes who push themselves to their physical limits but for too long, the demand that dance requires has come at the expense of mental well-being.

All of our customizable programs share the goal of psychoeducation and providing artists with the tools they need to make their minds as strong and as healthy as their bodies.

What to expect from your experience...

Icebreakers

Icebreakers are exercises intended to connect members of the group and to facilitate natural conversation. We will use them in partners or small groups based on the number of workshop participants. Our work can happen by circling up in a dance studio, at the table of a conference room or in the seats of a theater. We can adapt ZoLiMind Workshops to whatever learning environment makes participants feel most comfortable.

Skill Development

Providing knowledge & practical understanding of techniques from evidence based theories like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) with the goal of offering tools to optimize performance & strengthen sense of self.

Lessons Include things like:

● Recognizing automatic thoughts

● Dismantling cognitive distortions

● Testing the evidence of our thoughts

● Values exploration & identity work

Open Dialogue

Above all else, ZoLiMind Workshops hope to give dancers a comfortable space to use their voice and explore topics that affect them both onstage and off.

All workshops will include in depth conversation and exploration of emphasized topics that can be predetermined by artistic staff or brought to the table by the participants.

Most importantly, when dancers learn to zoom out and recognize their shared experiences, they can begin to lean in to increased self-esteem, enhanced mindfulness, creativity and a stronger sense of self.
